Who am I?

Just to make a long story short.  I am Felicia Schroeder.  I graduated from Purdue University in May of 2010 with a degree in psychology.  I will be 24 in a couple weeks!  I am currently working (Last day December 17th) at Benton Central High School in Oxford, IN.  About 25 miles northwest of Purdue.  I also work at Brother's bar and grill on Friday nights!  I just got done coaching the Benton Central varsity girls soccer.  What an interesting bunch, they will definitely be missed!

How did I like coaching?  LOVED it, but that is what pushed me to move back home and follow my dreams.  I have always had big dreams of playing soccer professionally, so here I am moving back home to reach that dream.

The best quote I have heard in a long time, "you can't put a price on your dreams", thank you Tiffany Weimer.  She is the one who convinced me to start Twitter and get a blog and start blogging!

I graduated from Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, OH in 2005.  Went to the University of South Carolina and played soccer there in the 2005 and 2006 season.  Miss my teammates there so much, I met so many amazing people and still stay in touch with many of them!  Transferred to Purdue University in the fall of 2007.  Best decision I have ever made for myself.  Our team won the Big TEn Tournament Championship so I have a Big ten Ring that I wear everyday!!  After my season was over, I went out and tried out for the deaf national team, YES I am deaf, been since birth.  I am so blessed because with my disability I still can communicate effectively! I even work at a bar, so I think that justifies that I can communicate very well!  I made the deaf national team so we went to Taipei, Taiwan in September 2009  for the Deaflympics, we brought back the gold!

Like I mentioned, I am moving back home December 17th, to get back on the soccer track and try find a professional team to play on overseas!!  Hopefully this turns out the way I want it to!  I just would love the one chance to play!  So I will check back in with more blogs!

My favorite quote is, what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger.  I literally live by that quote, I was born deaf and I have underwent 5 knee surgeries (two ACLs((one on each knee)) and 3 meniscus reconstruction surgeries).  I love the game way too much to give up at this point!!

After I am done hanging up my cleats I plan to go back to school to get my doctorates in clinical psychology so I can help deaf children and families reach their maximum potential.

Will be kicking back in soon,

NEVER EVER GIVE UP!

Adios!
